About the Role: Loss Prevention Specialist

The Loss Precention Specialist plays a key role in protecting company assests, reducing shrink, and supporting a safe and compliant environment across our stores. In this role, you will conduct audits, investigations, and reviews of store activity to ensure operational compliance, ATF adherence, and alignment with company standards.

Your work strengthens our stores, protects our people, and uphols the integrity of the Bomgaars brand.

What a Day in the Life Looks Like:

  • Performing scheduled and routine audits - including firearm audits - to ensure full ATF compliance.
  • Reviewing store reports and documentation to identify risks, irregularities, or policy deviations.
  • Conducting investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, or policy violations.
  • Gathering evidence, documenting findings, and preparing detailed written reports.
  • Partnering with store leadership, HR, and law enforcement when necessary.
  • Supporting stores by identifing shrink trends, process vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promoting safety, compliance, and situational awareness throughout store environments.

  • Has strong attention to detail and sound judgement.
  • Is able to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
  • Communicates clearly - verbally and in writing.
  • Can work independently in a remote or field-based environment.
  • You embody the Bomgaar CARES principles - Communication, Accountability, Responsiveness, Empathy, and Solution.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equilvalent (required).
  • Experience in loss prevention, security, retail operations, or law enforcement (preferred).
  • Knowledge of investigative practices and/or security systems (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand/walk in stores, review video footage, and assess environments.
