About the Role: Marketing Assistant
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist at Bomgaars, you'll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and smooth customer operations. You will process and reconcile charge accounts, monitor aging reports, and collaborate with stores to resolve billing discrepancies. The position provides direct support to charge account customers while helping maintain accurate daily audits, deposits, and sales reporting.
What a Day in the Life Looks Like:
- Processing and posting customer payments on charge accounts (Sioux City office only).
- Monitoring customer aging reports and following up on past-due accounts.
- Collaborating with stores to resolve billing and paperwork discrepancies.
- Auditing daily paperwork to verify deposits, cash, and sales variances.
- Handling deposit corrections, long/short variances, refunds, coupons, and journal enttries.
- Conduct collections on house accounts as needed.
- Ensuring sales and cash figures are accurately balanced and reported.

Who We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software.
- Experience with retail or multi-location operations a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

What You'll Bring:
- Accuracy and ownership in cash application, reconciliations, and daily audit checks.
- Hands-on A/R experience with payment posting, aging analysis/follow-ups, deposit corrections, refunds, coupons, and journal entries.
- Customer service mindset with clear, professional communication when assisting charge account customers.
- Problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve billing/paperwork discrepancies with store teams.
- Time management and organization to juggle multiple accounts, deadlines, and daily workflows.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; comfortable learning/using accounting software.
- Team play who can work independently, staying detail-driven and reliable.
