About the Role: Benefits Specialist
As an Benefits Specialist at Bomgaars, you'll support the administration of employee benefit programs and leave policies for our growing team. From onboarding of employee benefit programs and leave policies for our growing team. From onboarding support to managing FMLA and disability claims, your role is essential in ensuring our employees receive the care, clarity, and coverage they deserve.
What a Day in the Life Looks Like:
- Guide new hires and employees through the benefit enrollment and life/work event changes.
- Assist in planning and executing the annual open enrollment process.
- Respond to employee questions about medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
- Manage FMLA and other leave of absence requests, ensuring compliance with federal and company policies.
- Support ADA accommodation coordination with HR leadership and managers.
- File and track short-term/long-term disability claims and COBRA notifications.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and insurance providers to resolve issues.
- Help maintain accurate benefit records for audits and compliance.

- You have a strong understanding of employee benefit programs and leave administration.
- You know your way around FMLA, COBRA, and ADA compliance.
- You're a great communicator with a customer-service mindset.
- You handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- You're organized, thorough, and committed to accuracy.

What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma (HR or Business coursework preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR support.
- Working knowledge of benefit systems and HRIS (experience with ADP a plus).
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- A collaborative spirit and a drive to support others.
