Enjoy ‘Mary Washington’ year after year without replanting. This delicious favorite is disease resistant and yields abundant tender shoots. Its crisp and sweet flavor makes it a great addition to your favorite summer dishes, or freeze it to enjoy through the winter! Asparagus should be planted in the spring in a sunny location. Dig a trench 6" deep. Place the roots in the trench, spreading the roots so they remain flat. Cover with 3" of soil. Once growth begins, fill in with an additional 3" of soil. Water regularly. When harvest is over for the season, apply a balanced fertilizer (Ex: 10-10-10 at 1 lb. for 10 feet of row).
